Preschool programmes

Small Time

During term times, Small Time sessions are run at 10:30am on Tuesdays in Stoke and 10:30am on Wednesdays in the Children’s Library at Elma Turner Library.

Small Time sessions are designed for under 2 year olds and combines songs, rhymes and stories into a free, fun 20 minute programme. This is a great opportunity for toddlers to develop pre-literacy skills and for parents to meet with other parents. See you there!

Story Time

During term times, Story Time sessions are run at 10:30am on Wednesdays in Stoke and 2pm on Thursdays in the Children’s Library at Elma Turner Library.

Story Time sessions are designed for 3 and 4 year olds and combines songs, rhymes, stories and a craft session into a free, fun 30 minute programme. This is a great opportunity for preschoolers to develop pre-literacy skills and socialising skills and for parents to meet with other parents. See you there!


Minecraft Clubminecraft

A free, after school, Minecraft club meets at Elma Turner Library on Fridays at 3:30pm. Come and play on our secure server as we work together to create fantastic structures, and share our tips and tricks in Minecraft.

Bookings

  • Suitable for ages 6-12
  • No Minecraft experience is necessary
  • Bookings are required and we rotate the membership every school term

Code Clubcode club

Code Club is offering FREE basic software training to children aged 9 to 12 years.

Code club has been formed by a group of IT professionals and Nelson Public Library staff will deliver the course.

We will use Scratch in the first two terms in order to teach the basic concepts of programming, then move onto HTML & CSS and Python.
