Bleaker House: Chasing My Novel to the End of the World by Nell Stevens
A memoir about a writer isolated (voluntarily) on an island in the Falklands - it's worth reading for the setting alone.
This book is written in an interesting style, a mixture of memoir, prose and fiction and it manages to work really well. The balancing of these styles is the novel's success. It helps that Stevens is a fabulous writer with an obvious love of words. This is a beautiful book that I really enjoyed.
